He probably should be a bit smug--she was generally a "want-take-have" girl and really, she sent valued herself very much after getting kicked out by the people who were supposed to love her most. There likely weren't a lot of things she could say she hadn't done...except the softer, more intimate ones.
"I'm glad," she said quietly, leaning into his kiss.
